Create a Change in Season

Some career transitions happen to us – we get promoted, moved into a new role, laid off, or furloughed. Other times, they start within – feeling stagnant, stuck, restless, or uncertain – and it is up to us to create a change in season. Either way, trying to figure out what’s next can feel like this:

And why wouldn’t it feel like a daunting, uphill climb? It can be overwhelming and frustrating to start over or begin a new job search. We may be tempted to simply throw our resume out there and see what sticks. Unfortunately this approach often yields very disappointing results.

But what if a career transition could feel more like this?

Instead of focusing on the “what,” I help my coaching clients first clarify who they are, what they bring, and what is most important to them. Then it is much easier to find opportunities that are a good match (and eliminate the ones that aren’t)!

So if you are feeling the pull to create a change in season, let’s chat!

Note: These photos were taken in my small hometown in Maine – a perfectly timed visit during peak season, and an inspiration for writing this post. We don’t get this literal “change in seasons” where I live in Florida.
